Mrs. Vineetha Govindasamy (https://www.linkedin.com/in/vineethagv)
CEO/Correspondent

It is with great pride that I serve as CEO of Aurobindo Vidhyalaya! We understand the core purpose of education, and diligently work to provide the right learning experience for our students. Our goal is not to teach everything to our students, but to ignite the light of curiosity within them which will drive them to want to learn everything. Lifelong Learning is a key habit we foster and nurture in each child.

In this ever-changing world, our responsibility as parents and educators is to equip our children with tools to adapt to whatever circumstances they face. No school can make every one of their students score 100%, but every school can ensure that each of their students realize their potential, know their worth, learn how to get back up when life knocks them down and walk with their head held high, and make this world a better place with their unique skills and talent.

Mrs. Maheswari. K
Vice Principal (Principal-in-Charge)

To provide an in-depth educational experience, we encourage questions, especially to ask “WHY” as it will help our children to deepen their knowledge, stroke their spirit of discovery and enquiry through self learning. We work together to create an environment where students eagerly look forward to coming to school every morning! We believe learning is a continuous process, so we encourage our Aurobindo students to learn from each and everything around them with a real world based education.

Our Team
Our children come to school – joyfully- every morning, to learn about the world around them, to be tolerant to different attitudes, to be a responsible global citizen, to develop a principled moral compass, to appreciate life, and to be human.

We are a team of POSITIVE, PASSIONATE, & PRINCIPLED individuals who work very hard to make Aurobindo Vidhyalaya the best learning place for our children!

We are proud to be a part of Aurobindo family because of the working environment, which is stress-free, supportive (teachers who help each other & give each other the confidence to believe that they can do anything), and where we are continuously learning new things about technology & education. We are proud to work at this school as it keeps students’ learning at the core of everything it does. We are proud to be a team of teachers who encourage our students to think differently, to self-learn, to apply their learning in real-world settings, and give them the freedom to express their thoughts & learn joyfully. We are proud to be a part of the positive, caring, family atmosphere that fosters strong relationships between teachers, parents, students & management. We are proud that the school’s focus is not marks or commercial success, but we as a school, question what we do & why we do it & focus on holistic education, character education and growth mindset (seeing failures as a positive learning step). We are proud to be able to have the space to have our voices heard, be a part of making many decisions & be given many opportunities to learn & understand new concepts. We are proud to be part of Aurobindo Vidhyalaya!

WHAT WE DO

  1.  We help children notice the world around them & encourage them when they do.
  2. We question & we encourage our kids to ask questions.
  3. We continuously read & learn & better ourselves.
  4. We use behavior-specific encouragement for our students
  5. We encourage collaboration more than competition
  6. We teach in English, to help the child build proficiency in another language to their mother tongue (If the child doesn’t understand, I use alternatives in English to explain again. If I as a teacher cannot do so, I can use Tamil to help the child understand the concept).
  7. We will continue to improve our physical, mental, social, emotional, environmental & spiritual health.
  8. We will encourage our students to be self-learners
  9. We will nurture lifelong learning in all our students by helping them see the joy of learning.
  10. We will ask ourselves, “Why” & seek answers & reasoning to what we do.
  11. We will always help the students see the real-world connection to what they are learning in the textbooks.
  12. We do not use fear to manipulate a child’s behavior. Children should revere and admire their teachers, not be fearful of us.
  13. We use themes to bring in many new learning opportunities from the outside world to our children.
  14. We understand that we may not be able to give our 100% all the time, but we will continue to try to give our very best possible (Flight Plan).
  15. We continue to work on ourselves; our past, our vulnerabilities, our insecurities, etc & come to peace with it. Through this process, we become better versions of ourselves.
  16. We will not provide answers for all our kids’ questions. We will guide them to arrive at their own answers. When they don’t understand something, instead of giving them a “chewed” response, we will ask further questions so that the child can begin to understand for themselves.
  17. We will give our 100% & expect our students to too. We will not accept sub standard work or incomplete work. We value effort over perfection of answers in our students.
  18. We are accountable for our duties, therefore we will always inform in advance if we are not able to do something before we are asked as to why.
  19. We as teachers understand that children’s curiosity & creativity is key to learning & we will vow to keep that alive and help nurture these.
  20. This is not what we do from 9-5. This is who we are!
