Back in November, there was a thought: instead of a typical school Annual Day event, which usually involves students performing various songs/dances/dramas on stage, why don’t we have a different kind of annual event that is not just entertaining, but useful too? One that not only involves our students and staff, but our parents and our wider community too; that not just lasts a day but a week with many workshops, guests, community events, etc., We decided on “Swaasthya – ஓர் ஆரோக்கிய சங்கமம்”. This would be a six-day event focusing on the six dimensions of our health: physical, social, spiritual, environmental, intellectual, and emotional. We had day-time events involving parents and the community and in the evening, we had different guests presenting on that day’s specific health aspect followed by our students’ performances. It’s been ten days since the event and I was just thinking about the many late nights, brainstorming sessions, selection of chief guests, and short & long-term ideas to involve the community, working with students to set up stalls and presentations, and just a lot of learning and fun! As the week unfolded, I was absolutely overwhelmed seeing all the things that were once a thought in my head, manifesting right in front of my eyes- and that is thanks to one of the hardest working teams I have ever worked with. The teachers at @aurobindovidhyalaya worked late nights and put in so much effort to get everything right. I am beyond blessed to work with such a wonderful team. I received so many compliments about the event and they all belong to our staff and students. And thanks to all of our special guests @seethalakshmi1311 mam, Kavignar Nandalala sir, @smrithirekha ji, @anaadifoundation, Ram Gopalratnam ji, Mann Sudhakar sir, @amazememory Aravind Pasupathy sir, @dr_sharmika mam for your valuable contributions and generously imparting knowledge. This was such an amazing experience and I thank everyone involved for making this such an awesome event! #nosecretsineducation #spreaditlikewildfire
